Slap-dash Musings

(formerly known as Random Thoughts)

Yep, I've gone all thesaurus on the “r” word. Over.it.
Though I'm not too sure on it's replacement options.
Eventually, surely, something will take hold..... it's hard starting a 'new' thing.

Fluky Idea #1
I could never be a song writer, nor a poet. Words just aren't my thing.

Stray Conception #2
It may possibly be true that last night was the last night of fireworks. PLEASE be true. Two-weeks-plus-people. If real bombs did drop, we would stay in front of the TV none the wiser. Watching bombs dropping on Downton Abbey while “fireworks” go off around us.

Aimless Deliberation #3
My husband is THE man. Seriously.

I am blessed.

Driftless Theorising #4
MISSing coffee. And coffee misses me.
I have cut right back (to, like, 1 a week.... 2 if I'm being greedy) in order to prevent premature aging. I am a young 35, pretty much wrinkle free and I am hoping to stay that way …. so am doing an overhaul (again) which will see me age elegantly..... like Beyonce (I chose her because she gives my thighs hope).

curves. Phew.
Hit-or-miss Reflection #5
Cannot believe it's February already.
How wrong.

Unconsidered Consideration #6
My email inbox is imbalanced. I need to add more wisdom things to it. At the moment I get updates from Jillian Michaels (who I am meeting with regularly at 5:30am, am trying a new thing) and she tries to convince me at about 3:45pm daily through my inbox to
 put.down.the.cinnamon.roll.
I get bargain deals offered from online shops – mostly book ones, and I get the latest in travel deals. Every now and then there is an email from an actual person... and the odd Viagra pusher.
Will sign up for something more wise tomorrow, I think.

bi-atch.
Designless Perception #7
We celebrated Waitangi Day here yesterday with a day off.
Master T asks me “Why? What is Waitangi Day?”
Miss O asks if Waitangi is on Stewart Island.
I have failed them as a teacher and as a New Zealander.
Waitangi is a day off, I said.

Unpremeditated Meditation #8
Mary knew that Jesus was only 'hers' for a short time. An assignment, as such.... gifted from God to be looked after before He went and fulfilled His purpose.
She took time to treasure and ponder things she saw and heard of Jesus, in her heart....

I'm trying and learning to treasure and ponder more...... Love how God gently reminds us.

Odd Regard #9
Why didn't Lady Mary marry Matthew Crawley from the start? Why can't some plot lines just be simple like that instead of this love saga??? (though I love a good saga).

Purposeless Contemplation #10
So sick of finding Master T's dirty clothes in his drawers.
(will spare you the a picture)

Incidental Introspective #11 (does that even make sense?)
How good is God to us that His mercies are NEW every morning?
I am working on being 'softer'.
This is not my “word” for 2012, but this is a conviction I have, particularly in the words and tones I choose to discipline my kids with.
I often find in the heat of the moment, I lose the plot.
But it's not what is needed.
What is needed is for me to be gentle in spirit.... a fruit to work on.

HA! Waitangi Day (snort!)...!
Love that revelation about Mary. A good reminder to treasure those memeories/ time with our kids. And to truly know them.
I have no words of sympathy for the lack of coffee. I would die. D.I.E. Die. The end.

This is a fantastic post. And I know you haven't settled on a replacement for 'random' yet, but just so you know, I came over here immediately once I saw the title, it just grabbed me. Slap-dash musings. Love it.
